Picnic Chic

I've been musing about summer picnics for an article I'm writing for Marie Claire magazine. My friend Kit in Paris sent these picnic inspired handbags along to get the creative juices flowing! I know I stole a boxy straw bag from my grandmother a few years back. Where is it hiding...

  1. And OF COURSE you'd need shoes like that to match your picnic basket!

  2. I remember seeing a baguette clutch once in a magazine and thought it was crazy/ingenious. It looked like it had just come fresh out of a bakery! How perfect would that be for a parisian picnic?

  3. Oh I just love a good picnic. I'm crazy about things like picnic blankets and lemonade and frilly gingham dresses. And baguettes and cheese, of course.

In the summer, I host a wonderful potluck picnic in Central Park for all my food blogger and food loving and other creative-type friends. We all gather together and eat delicious things and enjoy a day in the sun. I can't wait until it warms up enough to host another one!

  5. Oooh lala! Article for Marie Claire! When does it go to print? The US one? I'll wanna get my hands on a copy somehow! Keep us posted so I can have a friend get one and send it here. (Unless it really is the French one and you are writing it in French?!? If so, KUDOS to you, chick!)

Picnics, huh. I like 'em. I go on them a lot in Paris. I am food and financially-challenged so eating out is not often an option and picnics are a fun and easy thing to do when the weather is nice! One of my friends who lives in Paris and I do this at least a couple of times a month in the summer.

Oh man, Paris is *still* chilly this week. I am YEARNING for summer!

  6. I just purchased Lunch in Paris, and savoring every page. What a great book. My grand-daughter is in Paris for her senior year of college learning French and teaching English, so reading this book makes it all the more exciting to read.
