The World's Most Decadent Leftovers...

P.S. - That paper peeking out from under the coffe table - that's the actual cover of Lunch in Paris: A Love Story with Recipes - Little Brown sent it last week. The book comes out on Feb 1st, so this is getting real. Soon I'm going to start putting annoying little links at the end of each post reminding you to pre-order. No reason for faithful blog followers to pay full price...

  2. Just finished the review copy of the book Amazon sent me and I cannot recommend the book enough. Well written. Funny. Informative and the type of book you get you cannot put down. And alas we have already tried two of the recipes, Rabbit with Cider and Honey which turned out well. Will make it again as part of New Years evening dinner. And the Better Than French Onion Soup, which is very much French is awesome. Doing the onions in the oven is indeed much much better. Its why we love the winter months so much, because of all the awesome root vegetables that are available. Bear in mind we cook/eat French a lot so we are picky. ~MotherLodeBeth~

  3. So glad you enjoyed the book - and the rabbit -I've been a bit obsessed with rabbit recipes this year. Between the Thanksgiving turkey and a couple of roasted chicken carcasses, I have more than enough broth in my Paris freezer for Onion Soup - tis the season...

  5. Just finished an advance copy of your book from Amazon.com. My husband is from the UK so I could really relate to the challenges of a cross-cultural marriage. Can't wait to try the soup recipes (it is snowing in Boston). Best wishes to you and your family (it was delightful to find the photo of a baby bottle on your website after finishing the book). Would love to see more photos and a video of Gwendal tapdancing!

  6. Just read your book. Loved it! Anyway this idea keeps floating around in my mind. What about a food show based in Paris and filmed in your apt.? My cousin does this in the US from his home kitchen. It's a very short segment (15 minutes). Anyway, just a thought. All the best.

  7. PS It would be really amazing to have some shots of you in the market. Perhaps Parisians frown upon such things...maybe discreetly done with a good hand held video cam in the hands of a proficient friend?

  8. Just came across your blog as I was searching for your book. It jumped out at me as I walked by a local bookstore here in Brisbane, Australia. I'm a Francophile through and through and anything with the words Paris, France, Provence, macaron, patisserie (etc. etc.), catches my attention. I have an American friend from NYC who also married a French man (and they are now living in Zurich), so I was going to email her about the book. I didn't realise it wasn't meant to be officially launched until February? BTW, there is a different cover on the one here. Not the one you show here. It's mostly red with mostly just a type treatment. No large illustration - just a mini Eiffel tower, love hearts and a small lady in white! Anyway, I can't wait to read it. I will live vicariously through your life! Hope you don't mind.
